For Week 9, we each focused on individual progress in our respective roles. For Kibi, she focused on refining our models and improving the animations. For example, she created the crystals for our crystal-themed region. She also got started illustrating our vignette at the beginning of the game. For Gregory, he took the feedback we received during the critique session and iterated on the mechanics tutorial. For Noah, he also worked on game/level design. He has been working on the mushroom level in our game for the past month, and he unveiled an improved version to us during our Wednesday meeting. For Wildan, he developed the narrative and dialogue further. He completed the mechanics tutorial context-sensitive monologue and game prompts. He referenced Gregory’s concept sketch of the mechanics level and created a fluid narrative progression. Also, he completed the text for the vignette, where the backstory of the game will be introduced before the game starts. Both of these were communicated with the vignette and mechanics tutorial workers. Lastly, Thanh is still recovering from surgery, so wanted him to rest as much as possible. Still, he organized all of the team meetings and was vocal throughout, making sure he was filled in with everything. Our next week will involve more coordination, as not much of that was needed this week. The game/level designers will continue to improve the levels, and Kibi will complete the vignette images. Wildan will complete the narrative for the mushroom level, and will work with other teammates to make sure the dialogue makes sense. (260 words)
