Week 6 Team Journal

After completing the first playable version last week, we have taken this past week to plan and refocus for the coming deliverables. Additionally, we all had other assignments that needed tending to and took this lull in work activity to complete those. And it was a team decision to not overwork ourselves as we believe the quality of our work is increased while our mental health is at its highest.


After convening we’ve decided that by next week’s journal entry, our goal is to have basic UI and AI interaction set up as well as continuing work on the narrative portion of the project. As for background processes, we will continue moving forward with level design, asset creation and animation in order to have it ready when our more player-centric elements are completed.


For the next week, we also set up a goal for ourselves to rehash the levels we presented in First Playable, implementing the ramping strategies that were taught in class (which hopefully should help us to refine the core gameplay as well). Besides that, we are going to start fleshing out the other “worlds” that we conceived for the original GDD.
